Hello,
I am in the process of getting quotes to replace a 20+ year old Payne HVAC system and have narrowed it down to 2 quotes:
Quote 1 Bryant Evolution Series AC - 2 ton 186BNA24 Furnace - 96% eff 986TB4260 Variable speed blower 4" Honneywell Media Filter Whole House Humidifier Bryant Connex w/ wifi thermostat 10 years parts, 5 years labor (trying to negotiate 10 year labor) After all rebates and taxes: $6784
Quote 2: Lennox AC - 14ACX-02H (Merit Series) Furnace - 96% eff EL296UHV-070 Variable speed blower 4" Honneywell Media Filter Whole House Humidifier 10 years parts, 1 year labor After all rebates and taxes: $4958
I understand that quote 2 does not include a comparable AC (XC14 would be $400 more) and is missing a thermostat too (have programmable wifi thermostat as is or would get ecobee 3) but even with those 2 added to the second quote ($4958 + $600 = $5458) is it worth it to pay $1300+ more for a 5 (potentially 10) year labor warranty as opposed to the 1 year? I just can not see it being worth it. Any input is appreciated.
