Static pressure over a coil altercation...old guys!

<rant> I feel like I need to throw in disclaimer or something... I'm pissed. I'm working hours passed schedule and it seems we're half assing things.

I'm a younger guy new in the trade. I'm trying to learn the science and new stuff the trade has to offer while learning from the older guys. The only problem with this is, the older guys are generally CLOSED MINDED to things. Oh my god they are hard to learn from sometimes. Digital? FUCK THAT! Cold as a Coores? Add more!!

If you are ever told close your mouth and open your ears (every thread here), I will always say take that with a grain of salt as you're a walking hazard if you don't question things or know why you're doing what you're doing.

Alright. So generally A coils are rated around .25 '' wc static pressure. This unit is low suction pressure. I say well let's check the filter inside, check the blower with our hand, insert manometer inside the high limit and make a quick hole above the A coil to check pressure drop. All this can be done in like 15 seconds.

Anyway.... obviously adding more charge didn't help. We have to go back Monday now. Any single time I ride with the older guys they always just wanna add more damn charge!

I was told checking static pressure wouldn't tell a whole story. Am I wrong here? Like if the blower is dirty, the rest of the system is generally dirty. But I have seen a clean blower and dirty system. I've seen a dirty plugged A coil and clean blower. There's no reason to come back for thi. It should be solved. </rant>
