Purchasing a new home and there's not a backup heat source. We've never used a heat pump before but we've heard that when the temp gets below 30 degrees it's not very efficient. So we're looking for a backup heat source that preferably doesn't require electricity and this house doesn't have a chimney so burning wood isn't an option (outdoor woodstove would be but we don't have that much money to spend right now). EDIT: should state that it's a 1287 sq ft home, well insulated log sided built in 2007.
