cracked drain pan

Hey everyone and happy thirsty thursday.

It's hot in Michigan, and quite humid today, with a high of 91'.

My friends own a used book store and they discovered their a/c had a large leak coming from an old cracked (plastic) drain pan. It has an A-Frame condenser over it. I imagine to "properly" fix it would cost a pretty penny ($2,500) as it's an older unit and I'm guessing parts are hard to come by.

Do any of you (in a non professional way) think that I can just seal up the pan using an epoxy and then paint it with an elastomeric paint? Is it even worth the hassle?

Any advice is good advice. Thanks!
