So I'm trying to figure out exactly what's going on with my AC unit. It was installed by the previous owner of this house in 2009, so about all I know is what is included in the attached image at the link below. Here's the two issues I am experiencing:
1) Whenever the power flickers (as it does quite often here in FL during the summer), most of the time my AC will not blow cold again unless I shut off the breaker and let it sit for a few minutes before turning the breaker back on.
2) Energy usage has spiked above what it was last summer. This may or may not be an AC issue, but I've been doing some reading that indicates that a bad capacitor could potentially cause more energy draw. Is this true, or should I be checking the other appliances in my house as a potential culprit?
Either way, any help and guidance would be appreciated.
