Forgive me if this is a stupid question, I know nothing about ACs. I have an old window unit 1994 Friedrich KStar air conditioner (sorry, I couldn't find a model number on it but it looks like this), when I was taking it out for winter it slipped and fell out my first story window. I was holding onto the power cord so it didn't fall too hard, just the wire out-side part is a little bit bent.
Here's the stupid part of the question: is it safe to try turning it back on? I've heard that the Freon used in older ACs is pretty toxic, but I wasn't sure if it's only toxic if inhaled, or if the part of the unit which houses it was damaged it would have all already leaked out over the course of the winter and I have nothing to fear in trying it.
Any help would be great, thank you!
