A/C is blowing, but not cold air. Help pls :s

Hello fellow redditors, I've got a problem. We bought this house a little over a year ago, advertised as A/C working. I remember turning it on and seconds later you could walk over to a vent and feel the air coming out, so we figured it worked just fine. I can't remember whether it worked for a while and then broke, or was always broken.. but that same summer, water started leaking from the ceiling in our basement. I think my mom called someone to fix it, but I can't remember whether or not it was ever fixed.. We live in northern Michigan, and it's been pretty hot lately (70-80). I noticed it was exceedingly hot and stuffy in our house, so I turned on the AC. I could feel air coming out, it was slightly lower than room temperature, but it wasn't cold. The next day, it was still around 80 degrees in our house. I tried it a few more times, but to no avail.

Before you ask, I'm sure that I've set the temp lower- we have one of those touchscreen thermostats and the "target temp" is 70. _

TL;DR: A/C is blowing room temp air, but our house hovers just above 80 degrees at all times.

(p.s. I know nothing about air conditioning or anything of the sort)

Any and all help appreciated!
