Do I need to do anything to get my oil boiler with summer/winter water hook up ready for summer?

We bought our house in December, it's my first experience with oil fired heat. There are four zones, three that feed the baseboards in the house and forth zone that feeds a coil in a large water tank that gives us hot water (I'm told this isn't a true summer/winter hook up, but I don't know what its really called.)

Anyway, since the boiler provides us with hot water, it stays on all summer long. Do I need to do anything to the rest of the house? I had assumed that I would shut the zones off, but someone just told me that I should leave them open because the thermostat will know enough not to send hot water up into the system when the temps are up. Does that sound right?
