My newer Armstrong furnace spliced together with an old Rheem classic AC unit has a little condensation leak. Fixing some old problems and one of them was figuring out where this green spray-staining across my furnace intake/exhaust PVC lines was coming from. Popped off the cover today to sort this out and realized its the ancient foam that has contracted and letting some condensation drip out, and catch a ride with the HVAC air blasting out ever so slightly.
That foam block is the part I need to replace. I'm guessing the evaporator coil is the old item, where the sheet metal around it is all part of the new furnace. Don't know enough about these systems to know if its a unique part to the specific furnace, or if its a more generic item for an R22 lineset.
