Hey guys, I'm a hvac student currently in second semester but we haven't gotten to refrigeration yet so try and bear with me. I picked up a 10 year old portable ac that wasn't working fully for really cheap just kind of as a project. The girl said it haven't been serviced ever and that it would run for about an hour only and only cool at average temps. I figured it probably just needs a really good cleaning. Fan runs great and everything. Only thing is the coils are literally welded into the tank of freon and I have no way of detaching them for easy cleaning. What is the best way to clean them without fully removing the coils?
