The previous tape used on my previous air handler was a professional grade Shurtape priced at the local HVAC supply for $41 a roll. Lowe's carries several types of foil tape. I purchased this tape hoping it would be up to code for sealing the supply plenum to the air handler. For the flex duct I purchased this type to connect to the take offs and to use for sealing insulation around the supply plenum. Are these the correct type of tapes for the application?
I plan on sealing the rigid ducts and plenums with fiberglass tape and mastic.
