Hi all
I work for a small software developer. Our CEO (in his infinite wisdom) chose a warehouse in Los Angeles for his company. It's about 3500 square feet with 25 foot ceilings. It's uninsulated and there is a large roll up door that leaks air (as you would imagine). Other than that, the space is sealed. No windows, or vents.
I've been put in charge of getting AC installed.
I'm looking for any and all advice.
The HVAC guy the landlord recommended came out and looked at the space. He told me the amount of cooling required for the space and suggested we add 20%.
"I like to go overkill" he said. "You don't want a unit that is gunna run all day. You want the AC to come on, cool the place, then shut itself off."
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't an AC that will run continuously, and keep the temp constant, exactly what you want?
I'm under the impression that "overkill" is a cardinal sin in AC.
However, most of my HVAC knowledge comes form watching Ask This Old House. So its very reasonable that I don't know what I'm talking about.
Notes: 10 people work in the space. It's all one space (other than the bathroom) There is no equipment in the space that would generate a large amount of heat (laptops, a fridge. etc) There will not be any insulation installed.
