Advice on Selecting Apartment Window A/C Unit

Hello /r/hvac redditors, first time redditor here. As you may have guessed from my username, I will soon be moving into an apartment in Connecticut. Groton (southeast corner) to be exact. My apartment will be on the first floor of a complex, and comes equipped with a kind of sleeve in the wall that I was told fits standard window air conditioners (property management said unit install is free as well). I'm going to try and attach an image of the floorplan emailed to me recently, but I think the important details are that it is a 680 sq. ft apartment, with 8 ft ceilings, and the air conditioners mount in the bedroom. There is only one air conditioner allowed per unit, so, if it is feasible, I would like to try and find one that can help to cool the whole apartment. Any recommendations/advice is appreciated, and I'll try to get back on here soon to answer any questions you may have.

Here's the floorplan with some dimensions (as long as I didn't screw up linking the imgur): http://imgur.com/2PJu9BK

Thanks!

*Update: I should've been clearer in my original post, but it seems like the main info I'm looking for is how many BTUs I should look for in a unit. I've seen a lot of conflicting ways to come up with this number floating around and I am hoping someone might be able to give me a more straight forward answer.

*Update to: I am cross posting this from /r/hvacadvice
