Help me choose between 2 replacement options, no idea what I'm looking at

Background: 6 year old, 2 story house, approx 2250sqft, in northern Texas. Currently have a builder installed 4 or 5 ton A/C and heat pump. Unit is low quality, approx 14 seer but loud and has gone out every summer for one reason or another (several capacitors blown, 1 freon leak).

So far, I've gotten 2 quotes for replacement. Looking to improve reliability (replace while we can, not when we have to!) and better efficiency would be great also ($300-400 electric bills in hot summer).

  • Quote #1 (~$7700) Trane XR15, 4 ton, 15.5 seer, with new touchscreen wifi thermostats, reusing the same zone board, warranty 10yr parts / 10yr compressor / 5 year labor

  • Quote #2 (~$8700) Daikin 5 ton, free outside unit upgrade from 14 to 16 seer, new nest thermostat, new zone board, warranty 12 year parts / 12 year compressor / 5 year labor

Both companies are reputable and local, so I'm not worried about installation and service. From some basic google searches, both brands seem reputable as well. So all things being equal, its basically a matter of which system would be better recommended for the prices quoted. Is the new zone board an important point?
