I'm not really sure where to start so I'll just jump right in. Truck a/c has been slowly getting worse lately, its about 90f out, I put my gages on them while the truck was running and a/c on, no matter what the blower settings are, when the compressor cycles on the low side drops to about 3psi and holds, the high side goes just over 100psi.when the compressor turns off the low side climbs to about 40psi in about 5 seconds, the high side stays steady at 100psi, the compressor is cycling every 4-5 seconds I figured this was probably just low on refrigerant, so I did a complete evac, vaccum test, and recharge with proper capacity. The pressures are staying the same as they were before and there's no change in cab temp. This system has an expansion valve so my thought was that it's been clogged or is sticking. I would like some confirmation from the experts here at r/hvac before I actually go and change it though :P The main thing stopping me from changing it immediately I that Im working on 2 identical trucks, same year same mileage, that are both showing the same symptoms in the same week. It's like clockwork!
Notable information: Accumulator/drier unit isn't getting cold at all High side line from expansion valve to evaporator is very cold, coming out of the evaporator is about ambient temp. 1 line is hot, between the compressor and condenser All other lines are ambient The 2nd truck actually pulls a slight vaccum on the low side when the compressor is running
