so we're renting a very old building (ie can't do anything permanent) and the basement is very cool, and on the top floor is a gymnasium with a very high ceiling. The gym is the only room we use, only for a few hours a day. The heating system is a radiator, and there is no AC system or vents that we can see/ access.
My question is: could we snake some flexible duct material up the stairs with fans on both ends to pump some of the cold air from the basement up to the gym? we'd need flexible ducts that can fit snugly to the fans. what kinds of fans would we need to sufficiently propel the cool air up 2 staircases? how much of a factor is duct diameter?
First of all, would it ever work? if yes, then what kinds of fans/duct material would I need?
