I had lightning strike my house which caused a fire in the attic. My power meter was pulled when the fire department came out. I got my meter put back in yesterday and now my thermostat has the message "MALF" on it. The heat pump is cooling like it should.
I have reset the breakers on the air handler in the attic and also reset the shut off on the outside of the house by the compressor.
The heat pump is a Westinghouse about 9 years old. The thermostat is a White Rodgers 1F72. I reset the thermostat by holding the up, down, and time buttons at the same time. The MALF code went off but came right back on in a few seconds.
Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks for any advice.
