Help....

I was mounting a tv and my stud finder didn't show there was electrical on the stud. Drilled through 220v wire to my ac. Thermostat went off and tripped double pole breaker. Opened up the drywall...no fire.

Flipped breaker back on. A/c is working at the evaporator and condenser. Air is being restricted by the dampers. I have one unit running off a Honeywell Multi-zone system to control air flow upstairs and down.

When I get up very close to the vents i can feel cold air barely blowing out. About like a whisper. So I know the unit is working. Did the power surge burn out the damper motor actuators?

I did call my home warranty company and have shut off power to the a/c. A/c company will be out tomorrow morning. I am reading into my policy that dampers aren't covered and my main concern is the 220v wire i drilled through. Don't want any unexpected fires in the future.

I'm assuming I will need a new 220v line run from the breaker box to the a/c unit and two new motors for the dampers. Am I safe to assume this?

Do I need to shut up power to the whole house or just the a/c?

I appreciate your insight.
