How do I Cool a Room in my Garage?

My family just built a 14x11' inside of our garage. Might not necessarily be up to code but its a great sealed in room and we needed the extra space.

The problem is that during the summer its 100+ degrees outside so the room is almost impossible to do anything in. We've been looking at AC Units like portable and multi split units to install but our worry is that the exhaust would produce a ridiculous amount of heat inside of the garage ultimately cancelling out the cooling inside the room because the air surrounding the room in the garage is that much hotter.

Does anyone have any advice on a solution? Our other thought would be to add ducting from our current AC Unit and just connecting it to that room but we thought the heat of the garage air might heat up the cool air before it even gets to the room.
