Hey folks, just moved into a new (to me) home from a similarly aged, but somewhat larger home. I had an ecobee3 thermostat in my old one, and just installed one at the new place yesterday.
I have 2 remote sensors, one in the basement, and one in my office where my pc (that pumps out a decent amount of heat) is located. Last night with the pc on the temps were 66/76/86. Right now with nobody home and the pc off, they are 67/77/81.
Is that a standard difference or is there something not functioning as efficiently as it could be? I could tell it to cool until the office sensor reads lower, or average them, but I'd rather not cool other parts of the house to frigid temps!
A feature of the ecobee3 is that you can have it run fan only for a minimum number of minutes per hour (I do 5 min/hr.) At the previous home, you could see a direct correlation between the fan running and the temp changing on the 'system monitor' graph ecobee generates. At the new house, there is no visible movement in the indoor temp when the fan runs. I thought potentially this is indicative of an issue that I could address.
Thanks!
