I posted in here last week but I didn't have good enough pictures to show the issues.
Picture one is what that copper colored pipe/coils in the background look like when the AC is turned off.
Picture 2 is what it looks like when the AC is turned on...with the thermostat set at 75.
Picture 3 is AC turned on.
Picture 4 is AC turned on.
Picture 5 is what it looks like after I turn the AC off again.
The pipe and in the background one of the copper curved coil things are froze, this is with the thermostat around 75 so it's not set too cold or anything.
I live in an apartment complex. I called the property manager she said "ok well it's just hot outside theres nothing wrong with it"
This is florida. Without AC is unbearably hot.
The maintenance guys came and looked at it, then left. They said "It's just condensation, maybe insultation problem but it looks fine, maybe put grease on the pipe" but they didn't fix it and just left. I never heard back from them.
When the AC turns on, it does blow out cool air, but even at night there's a problem with it. It's constantly running. Whereas when it was working normal last week, it would run for a while then turn off when it reached the correct temperature in the room. I live in a small studio apartment.
This is a brand new AC unit too. It was just put in one month ago at the beginning of July. It's central air, there's an inside unit which is what the pics are of and then outside there's a giant fan unit, which looks fine when I look at it but I can't take it apart to look inside.
When the AC is on, if I have it set around 75, itll come down from 82 to 77. If I then lower it gradually itll come down to 74 if I have it set at 72. It won't come any lower than 74. And it runs constantly. Obviously the longer I run it, the more ice builds up on the copper pipe.
I have checked the filters. There's two of them. They are brand new, and not dirty.
It shouldn't be out of freon/refrigerant as it's brand new just put in a month so everything would have been topped off by the vendor who installed it.
I am at a loss for what to do?
I have tried turning the AC off, and leaving the fan running for about 7-8 hours, then turning the AC back on, but same problem. I tried turning the circuit breakers off for 24 hours, and leaving the entire thing off for that length then turning it back on. However it is still freezing up and not working properly when turned on.
The front office of my place just keeps telling me "its hot outside thats why its running longer"
