ecobee3 with T wire as common - Not compatible??

Hi folks,

Recently purchased an ecobee3, but after speaking with ecobee support, it appears to be incompatible with my HVAC. They determined that my T terminal is common. Other terminals available are:

• G: Green wire • O: 2 orange wires • B: 2 brown wires • W3: no wire • W2: Black & Blue wires • W1: 2 white wires • R: Red wire • BK: no wire • T: 2 black wires • Y: 2 yellow wires • YLO: no wire 

Ecobee support said that I could get a professional to rework the terminals to work with ecobee, but he didn't sound too excited about it and recommended I just return the unit. I'm curious though - can anyone shed more light on what would be needed?

This is a A/C and Heat Pump setup with auxiliary heat capability. I have pictures and more info if needed, just let me know.
