I am in a two-story building. The air conditioning on the second floor is broken. Somebody suggested that running the air conditioning on the first floor would force even hotter air upstairs, thereby making the second floor warmer. This sounds wrong to me. (I assume that running the air conditioning on the first floor would cool the overall temperature of all parts of the building.) Thoughts?
