My house is all electric heat via heat pump. The unit was installed in October 2014. I moved in January 2015.
I had an issue with heat output that turned out to be a bad capacitor in the air handler and he also replaced the condenser pump as it was overfilling and leaking. Other than this, no problems.
The installer is a one man private company, old dude who used to teach HVAC.
When they flipped my house my current neighbor inherited his house and they had the same guy install their AC (they also have oil, I don't).
His AC was having some issues so I had my installer come out for routine maintenance this spring. He didn't seem to do much but I figured it was worth it. My first routine maintenance.
Should I have the system checked out this Fall? He said to call him in September. Money is tight. Should I bother having it inspected considering it is brand new and it has been a year?
