The plenum that ties into the indoor air handler on my HVAC system sweats pretty heavily and is causing mold growth in the air handler closet. A home inspector noted that the outside condenser is half a ton oversized for our air handler, so I'm guessing the temperature difference is too great between room air intake and cooled air outflow. Can I solve my problem by wrapping the plenum in duct insulation? It has branches coming off at weird angles, so I might not get a completely perfect seal, but I'll be aiming to come close.
