Homeowner wants to violate code

A homeowner wants an install that will take power from a sub panel that is already in violation of the NEC. The install will further violate the NEC.

Is there any way to have them sign a waiver to release the contractor from liability or should the job just be passed on until they are willing to bring the existing up to code?
