My attic vent fan has started making this annoying vibrating noise. I went up in the attic and turned the thermostat up as high as it would go a few weeks ago, but today was warmer and it's turning back on again. My understanding is that these things are fairly useless so I'd like to turn it off altogether, but can't figure out how. It's a Leslie Locke thermostat that looks old af so I haven't been able to find any instructions or documentation or anything. There's a button on the thermostat that cuts the power as long as I'm holding it down, but I can't get it to stay powered off. Not sure if maybe I need to push it in further to get it to shut off permanently. The attic is a major pain in the ass to get into, otherwise I would just go up there and mess with it instead of asking strangers on the internet. Can anyone help me figure out how to turn the dang thing off? I'm about at my wit's end with the noise. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I can provide a picture of thermostat if that's at all helpful.
