Just a question for fellow techs. I have been in the field for almost ten years and have exclusively used an air/acetylene torch setup. Recently, I have picked up an oxy/acetylene kit to try out. I understand the benefit of a hotter flame with the oxy setup reaching way above the 2,700* of the air/acetylene, but several of the senior techs I work with feel the oxy/acetylene is no longer necessary with the advancement of air/acetylene torch tips. Anyone want to put add their two cents? Oxy vs air acetylene???
