Portable AC noise driving me insane

Last year I purchased a portable AC unit to cool down the bedroom. For the short summer we have here, it works pretty well to cool my 250 sqft bedroom. It's a Insignia 10000 BTU Portable. It's a new unit.

However, my hearing is pretty sensitive and the buzz of that AC just drives me insane. The fan that moves the air is actually pretty quiet. I'm not an expert on this, but it sounds like the compressor is making all that noise. It is a loud buzzing sound. It's similar to the fridge but much louder.

I opened the back of the unit to see if there was any rattling but it looks like everything is well put together. I put the unit on a thick blanket to see if it was vibrating against the floor, no difference.

I'm tempted to insulate the compressor with foam or something but I don't know if that will work or somehow damage it. Another option is to replace it with a window unit, I read that they may be quieter since part of the unit is outside. Though my limited handyman skills are the main reason I got a portable unit because it's so easy to install and remove for the winter.
