What's the normal cost to replace an air conditioning coil?

I'm a homeowner in California, and my air conditioner has been struggling -- when it's 90 degrees outside our air conditioner can be set at 73 but it won't get lower than 80 in the house. I had someone come out and it sounds like I'm low on freeon, a valve (htc valve?) needs to be replaced, and the air conditioner's coil (outside Lennox unit) needs to be replaced.

However, apparently the previous homeowner had the furnace replaced and the new opening for the furnace/air conditioner is roughly 22 inches and the existing coil is around 14, so the HVAC tech made it sound like getting a bigger coil will help with the cool down. Additionally, I won't need to replace the valve if I get a specific coil.

So, my question is: I was quoted around $1,850 for the work, does that seem right? Or too high? I would appreciate your guys' wisdom on this!
