With ductless & inverter compressors, is manual J still important?

Hello everyone, I stumbled here because I've been dealing with contractors for a ductless system. They all keep telling me that you can't really oversize a ductless because of the inverter compressor. I had 3 guys and non of them do manual J. But I figured based on my southern exposure and new windows that my 550SQ space would be served well with a 15k BTU unit. 1 guy said 12k, one said 15k and another said 18k. The 18k guy said it's better to oversize with inverters because if I don't need 18k it will scale down to 15k or 12k as needed. What do you guys think?
