My house has a carrier Infinity system in it that the previous homeowners installed. It's much more of a high end system than I would ever have put in my home if it was up to me. Problem is I want to use a Nest, and looking all over the Internet, I can't do that. Sounds like I potentially can, but doing so is a bad idea.
So then there's the carrier wifi thermostats. I believe they run like $800. Is there really a benefit here? Are they self learning like the Nest, or simply giving me the ability to control the temperature via wifi and that's it? I have a single zone system in a 1600 sq ft house. Any pointers would be appreciated.
