Every few hours, the furnace fan turns on for 5-10 minutes then turns off. The thermostat is set to off, and fan is set to auto. I removed the thermostat from the wall to see if it was faulty, but the problem consists. What can i look for? is this something I should call a pro for? the hvac equipment is located in the attic.
Its a 20 year old model single stage. The furnace flame is not igniting, its just the fan going on and off.
