Heat pump issues since installing Nest.

I recently installed a Nest thermostat in a rental house. It's a heat pump system and I initially just set it up like a normal furnace, before realizing it actually needed to use the O/B. I only have 4 wires plugged in - Y1, G, O/B and Rc - the same 4 that were installed in the previous Honeywell thermostat.

Since installing it we've had issues with the A/C. Heat seems to be running just fine (I think?), but A/C doesn't cool very much, and last night when I was there I heard it making a racket - sounded like it was trying to turn on over and over again. Some clicking as well. I did a quick audio recording of it that you can hear here. Would love any help with this as I'm a bit out of my knowledge zone - thanks!
