Air Quality Issue?

So we got a new furnace and some ductwork to an additional room installed. The furnace was done a week ago all went well. The air quality was fine and had no troubles.

They finished ductwork yesterday and although my wife did get a chance to turn thermostat down when she came home, the furnace wasn't turned off when they did some of the work of going through concrete or our floors. So, the air quality was noticeably bad at first. It smelled and even tasted like paint or something at first.

So I opened the windows and let the furnace keep running. I did it all night in hopes to air things out. I even ran a small single room air filter.

Today I vacuumed the house and did opened a handful of windows now and again. Overall, the air felt much better.

The basement around furnace did at times have slight burning smell, maybe plastic? I couldn't put finger on type of smell. The area where ductwork was also still had strong smell. I guess wood dust, paint, insulation? I dont know.

Despite thinking upstairs had gotten beyyer... I got a headache. My sinuses felt a lot of pressure and the headache was all day even after taking advil later it remained. I wasn't sure if it was the air or just me though.

But then my wife came home from work and she immediately thought air was still bad (although better). She felt it itchy her throst and bothered her lungs. She thought it tasted metallic. She suffers from asthma so she is generally more sensitive than me.

So we left and luckily can stay with her parents.

My headache? It almost immediately got better. It's lingered slightly but that sinus pressure is gone. It just feels better. I should have left the house hours and hours ago.

I will get in touch with HVAC company emergency service tomorrow because we want to be able to go home...

But what do you guys you think this could be? Is it from the debris and ductwork? Is it the furnace running improperly?

We have a CO detector and that is operating and never went off, even carrying it down to furnace.

I just don't know what would give me the headaches and bother my wife like that too. Hopefully what it is will be an easier fix and easy to clear air up again.
