So our new system I guess has a filter somewhere down with the ductwork in the basement rather than at the vent itself.
So now our vent (which is fairly large at probably 12" x 24" in middle of hallway) looks like it is covering a large hole. Before it had the nice black filter below the grate so it lacked depth. Additionally the inside of the supply vents at bottom is white vs. the black of filter. So aesthetically it is worse. Lastly, it will certainly collect dust and debris here. No concern really of it in system since there is the filter downstream I guess.
Anyway, can we put a second filter in? Or at least some sort of fine mesh perhaps? That has it look less deep and hole-like. It just looks bad/weird now that it has been removed and debris is far more noticeable and will have to consistently vacuumed I suspect (for aesthetics).
