Converting millivolt thermostat to 24v for Ecobee3 (or Nest) thermostat?

90% sure our thermostat is an old millivolt thermostat pictures at http://imgur.com/a/nVmEc; It connects to our in-wall furnace with a pilot. Hoping to install an Ecobee3 (or Nest) thermostat, so we can control the heat using our phones while we're at home or when we're away. Found a relevant thread on r/ecobee as well as another thread on r/HVAC, but hoping to get help (or confirmation) on what needs to be done, if it's even possible.

From my research, it seems like installing a 24v transformer to convert our millivolt thermostat will allow us to install an Ecobee3 or Nest. If that's true, will we need to do anything else to provide power to the Ecobee/Nest?

Thanks for any help you can provide, Luke
