We moved into this house a few years ago and this gas fireplace has been great. It heats our cement-floored family room. During the colder days, we turn it on for an hour or so in the mornings and it's great.
Last week, it went out and I read about thermocouples, thermistors, etc and decided that I was not qualified to mess with it, so we called someone.
The guy came and determined the thermocouple needed to be replaced, so he replaced it. Then, it still wouldn't work, so he took it out, then tried again. Still didn't work, put the thermocouple back in and said something along the lines of "the gas valve is bad and needs to be replaced and I don't know where to get parts for this gas fireplace.. sorry."
So, now I'm here.. options are:
- A) Call another guy and see if he knows more
- B) Try to track down someone who knows about this brand of fireplace and see if I can figure out where to get parts
- C) ???
- D) Buy a new fireplace
- E) Ask reddit
Here is a photo of the fireplace and the insert card.. I can't find anything about the brand "Country Stoves" in Auburn WA other than that they have an address.
Anyone have an idea for me?
Thanks guys!
