I have a portable generator wired into my breaker box via a transfer switch to power various circuits in case of power outage. Yesterday, we got to test it and it worked great. All circuits powered up and worked very well. The only thing I noticed was the Honeywell WiFi thermostats were not powered even though I have the corresponding furnace wired into the transfer switch. The corresponding Condenser unit is not wired in due to the fact the generator is not powerful enough to start it anyway. Does the condenser power the thermostat? Combination of the two? Is there a safe way around this? Thanks for the input!
