I just moved into a house with the air handler in the center of the house (no basement) and it sounds like jet engine. It's what I picture a commercial air handler sounding like. I got my first electric bill and it is through the roof. I am curious if this thing is inefficient and causing the massive electric bill. All other energy use has been reduced so I can't think of anywhere else it would be coming from.
This is the air handler in question: https://www.bakerdist.com/tempstar-fem4p3600at-piston-air-handler-r410a-3-ton-tin-coated-copper-tube-aluminum-fin-evaporator-fem4p3600at-29552
The front panel is missing and has a rubber cover on it so it actually more closely resembles this: http://www.usedacdepot.com/carrier-used-ac-air-handler-fem4p3600at-2s/
Also, sorry if I am not using the right terminology. I know nothing about the HVAC world.
