Just had our 8 year old Goodman AC unit serviced since moving into our house near Cincinnati in 2015. Long story short, tech finds we are low on Freon by about 4lbs and common sense shows we have a leak. Without any further inspection he says it's probably the coil and its cost with the cost of replacing Freon would be just shy of replacing the unit itself. I had him quote me a new unit and he's waiting for me o get back to him. I already have another tech coming next week from another company to confirm what the first said. Should I be expecting to replace this unit already or could the fix likely be something simple and the tech just didn't want to take the time? I know a commission on new units could be a factor here so I'm just looking for some outsider insight. Thanks in advance.
