Blower Motor Issues

Yesterday, I came home and the wife informed me that the furnace was not working.

The furnace is an old Williamson Temp-O-Matic. When I opened it, I found that the belt on the blower motor had snapped (it was old and cracked), I went to the local HVAC place and bought a new belt, and installed it.

Once I got power running again and it kicked on, it seemed to run fine for a bit. After a couple of hours, however, we noticed the heat wasn't blowing again, so when I checked the motor again, the belt is still there, but the motor will try to click on, hum for about 3 seconds, and stop. The motor is hot to the touch. It's an A.O. Smith GF2034 motor.

It mentions on the label that it needs lubricated from time to time, but I am unsure of where the oil port is, and I'm not sure that would fix the over all problem if the motor is bad.

I turned off the gas and turned the thermostat all the way down (the only way to turn it off without removing the Fuse from the fuse box unfortunately), but I could still hear the motor trying to click on every couple of minutes or so.

I also looked for a run capacitor, but I'm pretty sure there just isn't one in this system. This weekend should be the end of our cold season, and I don't feel like spending $100 on a new motor in a rental house if I can help it, but if there's an easy way to check if the motor is bad or not, I would like to know.

Thanks for any and all advice!
