Hi all, this is probably a real rookie question. I have hydronic baseboard heating in my home. The hydronic heat and the A/C are controlled by two separate thermostats. That's just the way it was when I bought the home a few years ago.
But now I am enclosing a carport to make more living space; the hydronic baseboard heating will be extended into the new area. I would like to divide the home into two heating zones - the 2nd zone being the newly enclosed area. My questions:
1) Can this be done? 2) Can I get a single thermostat which will control A/C (all on one zone) and two heating zones?
I haven't provided any information; let me know if I can or should clarify anything (e.g., size of addition, existing size of home).
Edit: I should have written earlier that the water is heated by a gas boiler in our basement; we live in a single-story ranch.
