Been working as a maintenance tech for nearly a year now and by my account, I've met my own and my employers expectations. However, I feel I've reached a ceiling and will have to wait longer then I want to to break through to a tech position. Company I work for doesn't really mobilize its employees upwardly if know what I'm saying. I feel I'm am compensated well, for what I do, and I generally like my employer. BUT I want to progress and where I'm at right now I only anticipate my own progression to be at a snails pace. When I see openings at other companies I feel somewhat guilty to apply. The company I work for has given me opportunities I would never have otherwise and I appreciate that. But there comes a time where you have to do what is best for YOU. What would you do? THANKS!
