In a motel room: How can I use an overhead air conditioner to reduce the humidity from 80% to 50%?

The indoor temperature is 18-20c, the outdoor temperature is 13c.

The "dehumidify" option is not doing anything...?

The humidity meter went up when I put it on "heater" mode?
