My husband and I are looking into purchasing our first home. We found a fixer upper for a great price. It's a giant victorian that's already had the duct work done.
We discovered, during our tour, that there are two furnaces and two air conditioning units. Some of you might be thinking that there are two complete systems, something not that uncommon in larger homes, perhaps one for the main floor and another for the second floor. Like I said, this is a giant two story victorian, that makes sense.
But instead of having split levels it turns out that there are two systems and every six months they switch to the other system? So only one system runs at a time.
If we were to purchase this house, we would be interested in creating a split system, one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Does anyone have any idea what type of work would be involved in this and how much it would cost?
Thanks!
