Hi /r/HVAC! Im in MN and my Nordyne AC outdoor unit (JS5BD-024K) is not running. Neither the fan nor the compressor kick on. Thermostat on cool, set below current temp, unit has power.
I checked the capacitor and it seems to be... around spec. 35/5 µF ± 5%, reading 33.5/4.5 µF or so. Is that close enough or should I replace it?
The contactor seems okay. I saw it open/close and it seems to be sending power to the fan and compressor (I think. I used a voltage tester pen but it was hard to isolate anything behind the panel as the pen would go off anywhere near the wiring. It read power where the wires go into the compressor and fan, respectively, though.
Not sure where to go next.
