We have an old unit (circa 1995). A friend serviced it last year and topped off the freon for us- it actually didn't need much at all. Worked great all summer.
Went to turn on the unit yesterday, and while it kicks on outside, there is no air coming from the vents. I tried just turning it on fan, and nothing.
Any idea what it could be? Our friend does HVAC but he is swamped at work and going on vacation soon.
I know it's an older unit, but we probably won't replace it when it dies, well at least not for a few years- we are doing a lot of home updates and it's just not in cards yet. We will probably pick up a few window units to hold us over the next few summer. That said if it's a cheap fix, we will probably go for it.
