So all the air entering my house is being heated by the air leaving. I ran my hrv (interlocked with high speed on furnace) all night long with the outdoor temp being about 18C and the inside temp only dropped from 23.5 to 23C. My plan is to install a bypass damper on the fresh air that only opens when the hrv is not on and there is no call for heat or a/c. Have any of you seen this? Should i interlock the damper with an exhaust fan (i would have to install one somewhere, maybe on second floor above stairs)?
