So I'm a home? Owner with a double wide trailer (Modular home) and my compressor just took a crap in my Coleman Evcon unit. The unit is probably about 18 years old now.
First question: Is it best to replace just the compressor, I've also replaced, The control board, the capacitor, and refilled it with Nu-22 R22 replacement. So basically the only things left are the coils, the compressor and the fan motor. For 980.00 I saw some compressors online, I'm considering going this route, how much longer life should i see out of the unit since i've nearly rebuilt it.
Second question: I was told i cannot use a standard home split system because of the higher static pressure in my house, How do i calculate the static pressure, or is there a place it would be written on the existing unit, I saw some Revolv? units that are made for double wides, Am i good to go as long as i find a unit made for a mobile home, that fits in the existing closet for the Fan unit and will handle the right static pressure and correct tonnage?
The units i have found seem to be around 2500, which my HVAC guy can install I'd be around 3000, vs 5000 for a replacement Evcon coleman.
